MIRIADE (Multi‐omics Interdisciplinary Research Integration to Address DEmentia diagnosis) was a four years project under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Programme. The main aim of MIRIADE was to train a new generation of scientists that become experts in effective development of novel biomarkers for dementia. MIRIADE integrated existing biomarker datasets available within the consortium and formed a ‘’dementia disease map’’.
The young scientists developed novel biomarker assays using innovative technologies, and MIRIADE generated novel innovation insights to generate a blueprint for an efficient biomarker development workflow. MIRIADE thus helped to improve the availability of useful biomarkers in clinical practice. This enables early and specific diagnosis of dementia types. Moreover, these biomarkers will help the development of treatments for dementia.
