VirtualBrainCloud

VirtualBrainCloud was a Horizon 2020-funded research project, which ran from November 2018 to May 2023 (grant agreement No. 826421). Led by Prof. Petra Ritter at Charite University Hospital (Berlin, Germany) VirtualBrainCloud created a cloud-based brain simulation platform to support personalised diagnostics and treatments for neurodegenerative diseases (NDD). The resulting software was tailored to the individual, bridging multiple scales to identify key mechanisms that predict NDD progression. The interdisciplinary VirtualBrainCloud consortium also developed robust solutions for legal and ethical matters by interacting with the HumanBrainProject, Alzheimer Europe and ELIXIR, an organisation that manages and safeguards EU research data.
