On 20 March 2015, Urmas Paet, MEP (Renew, Estonia) joined the European Alzheimer’s Alliance.
In his contributions to Alzheimer Europe's campaign to make dementia a European priority he:
- signed European Parliament Written Declaration 57/2015 calling for European Alzheimer’s disease strategy
- signed the Glasgow Declaration on 20 March 2015.
- joined the European Alzheimer's Alliance in March 2015.
In the run-up to the European Parliament elections in May 2019, Urmas Paet again signed Alzheimer Europe's European Dementia Pledge, continuing as a member of the EAA and affirming his support for greater EU collaboration on dementia.
