About
I am 64 years old and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease three years ago. This was of course a shock although I try living with the attitude that this is not the worst that could happen to me.
After the initial phase I have more and more come to terms with this way of life. I have stopped working and am primarily focusing on the things that I believe will support me and my family in this situation.
My interests include swimming, running, hiking and travelling and I am also interested in how to handle the mental side of this disease.
What I also enjoy is studying Spanish with a couple of “amigos” every week and also writing a column in a quarterly magazine of the Swedish dementia organisation.
I live with my wife, Eva, in Nyköping in Sweden and have two children, Jonas 31 and Sofia 28.
I am really pleased to be part of this group and to see how we can develop support to people with dementia and carers on a European level.
In 2024, Demensförbundet nominated Kjell Ehn for the mandate 2024-2027.
