My name is Věra Ryšava. I am from Czech Republic. I live in Kostelec nad Černými lesy - a smaller town near Prague with lots of forests. I worked for 25 years in a library in Prague, in the children's department. I liked the work and enjoyed doing it very much. I also worked at the zoo for a while as a cultural worker, that was an interesting experience. I am now retired. I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in December 2020. I always liked sports (I actively played basketball in my youth) and I liked nature. Now I fill my time with nature walks with my dogs and friends, visiting interesting exhibitions or theatre performances, reading books. I like humour and I like to be in the company of people who are inclined to it.
Věra Ryšavá was nominated by Czech Alzheimer Society, to join the European Working Group of People with Dementia in October 2022.
