This Alzheimer Europe discussion paper highlights need for ethically sound involvement of a more diverse set of people with dementia in all aspects of research. A comprehensive literature review was carried out, which, together with rigorous debate among the members of the ethics working group and with input from members of the European Working Group of People with Dementia (EWGPWD) and several independent experts, led to the publication of a discussion paper and recommendations, targeted at researchers, members of ethics research committees and funders of research.
