PREDICTOM

PREDICTOM is an international cross-sector collaborative effort. It includes partners working in academia, business and hospitals in Europe, Asia and America from 15 different countries, as well as over 4,000 study participants from across Europe.

The vision behind the PREDICTOM initiative is to bring dementia diagnostics closer to the public, minimise delays in diagnosis, and foster personalised interventions and preventative treatment. This should, in addition, reduce healthcare costs across the world.

The project’s main goal is to develop a customisable cognitive and biomarker screening platform, based on artificial intelligence (AI) models. This publicly accessible AI platform will be capable of identifying people at risk of developing dementia, even before the first symptoms appear. A key element of PREDICTOM is its screening process approach. Cognitive testing results and biomarker samples, such as blood or saliva, are provided remotely by participants i.e. from the comfort of their home.

PREDICTOM is part of the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), a public-private partnership (PPP) between the European Union and the European life science industries.

The project has received funding from the Innovative Health Initiative Joint Undertaking, under Grant Agreement nº 101132356. This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, COCIR, EFPIA, EuropeaBio, MedTechEurope, Vaccines Europe, Novo Nordisk A/S, GN Hearing A/S, Pharmacoidea Hungary, GE HealthCare, Siemens Healthineers, Icometrix Nv Belgium, ALZpath Inc USA, Altoida Inc USA, BrainCheck Inc USA, and Muhdo Health Ltd.

The project runs from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2027.
