Calling all artists using photography or painting to fight stigma: Just one month left to apply for our 2025 Anti-Stigma Award!

01/08/2025

Alzheimer Europe and the Alzheimer Europe Foundation recently announced the launch of the 2025 edition of their Anti-Stigma Award, following the growing success of this Award since its beginnings in 2022. This year, the Award will recognise a European artist using photography or painting to address stigma and convey a positive image of dementia and people living with dementia. There is just one month left to apply, with the deadline set for 1 September, so please hurry and apply today!

Applications can be made by artists established in a member country of Alzheimer Europe themselves, or by a nominating national Alzheimer’s association. In the latter case, the written consent of the nominated artist must be sought prior to making the application on their behalf. Submitted works must have been produced in the past three years (2022-2025) to be eligible for the Award.

The 2025 Award will consist of a cash prize of EUR 5,000 for first place, a cash prize of EUR 2,500 for second place and a cash prize of EUR 1,250 for third place, each of which will be accompanied by a trophy. The winning artists will be announced during a special Award Ceremony on 2 December 2025, in Brussels.

Interested artists or national Alzheimer’s associations wishing to nominate a particular artist, should send in the completed application form by the deadline of 1 September 2025.
