Brain health and neurodegenerative diseases concern us all, regardless of our age. In young adults (~18-25 years), building healthy lifestyle habits is of vital importance, making this group of people the perfect target for brain health campaigns. ADIS is using Brain Awareness Week to launch a new Spanish language campaign called “Yo Me Celebro” (“I celebrate myself”), consisting of a series of videos being shared on TikTok and Instagram, two of the most popular social media platforms among the younger demographic. The first video, which is being used to launch the campaign, features Soraya Moradi-Bachiller, Public Involvement Officer at Alzheimer Europe. Subsequent campaign videos will be also shared on Alzheimer Europe’s Instagram and TikTok accounts using the hashtag #YoMeCelebro. You can watch all the videos using the QR codes on the campaign poster above. Work on the campaign started at the beginning of 2024, with the aim of creating something adapted to young adults, for whom taking care of their brain health is complicated due to financial and time constraints.
This campaign has been developed in the context of the ADIS research project (homepage - adis-project.eu), with campaign work being led by Soraya Moradi-Bachiller in collaboration with the Confederación Española de Alzheimer y otras demencias (CEAFA), the ADIS Advisory Board composed of people with Mild Cognitive Impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease and their supporters, the ADIS Young-Adults Advisory Board composed of people in their early 20s, and Prof. Dr David Bartrés-Faz (University of Barcelona).
