A new article co-authored by four Alzheimer Europe staff members and researchers from the IMI ROADMAP project was published this month in the Journal of Health Expectations. The article is entitled “Conducting public involvement in dementia research: The contribution of the European Working Group of People with Dementia to the ROADMAP project” and describes the impact that the views and feedback of people affected by the condition had on the project. This included, among other aspects, changes in the design of a survey which was used in the project and the development and use of concepts throughout the whole project.
The article also explains how the public involvement (PI) activities helped the researchers to understand better the perspectives of people affected by dementia with regard to issues that were important for the project, such as meaningful outcomes and the progression and delay of the disease.
