The 2023 Alzheimer Europe Yearbook, "Legal capacity and supported decision-making related to dementia", presents the findings of our recent work examining the situation in European countries, with regards to how legal capacity and supported decision making are dealt with.
The publication notes that whilst some countries are beginning to embed the principles to supported decision-making within their legislation, it remains variable across Europe, meaning the legal capacity of people living with the condition is not always respected.
