The main goal of the JADE Health Joint Action (JA) is to improve and foster health in the EU Member States by reducing the burden of Dementia and other Neurological Disorder and related diseases, both at societal personal level, through improving prevention and early detection of the illnesses and improve education and insight into and understanding of the disease for relatives, care professionals and other stakeholders. JADE Health started on 1 January 2025 and will last 36 months.
JADE Health is designed to integrate validated best practices and/or (cost-)effective interventions across countries and regions through transnational pilot initiatives, complementing and reinforcing existing policies and programs. This Joint Action will be implemented by 17 EU countries involving best practices in 44 pilots in the countries participating.
The project initiative covers the entire pathology from a holistic viewpoint, covering awareness, prevention, early detection, treatment, and care methods. JADE Health also addresses transversal and intersectional aspects, e.g., promoting equity in health, social, cultural, and ethnic diversity, and the improvement of data availability. Essential elements for comprehensive disease care, such as health literacy and high-risk populations, have also been considered. This project will take into account the role of care providers, relatives, and health professionals, improving service pathways and care solutions.
The activities are distributed into 10 Work Packages (WPs): 4 transversal WPs, and 6 technical WPs. The wide coverage of JADE Health is secured by the involvement of 17 EU countries and 47 entities. JADE Health will enhance cross-national collaboration, maximizing the exploitation of lessons learned through a clear strategy, engaging groups of interest, and promoting integration and sustainability of approaches to achieve high-level impact.
