On 17 October, researchers from the international ROADMAP consortium recommended a new mapping algorithm to estimate EQ-5D values from Quality of Life (QoL) data related to Alzheimer’s disease in the Quality of Life Research journal. The team used a variety of statistical models to estimate utility directly, or responses to individual EQ-5D questions from QoL-AD. These were then trialed for patient-rated as well as proxy-rated questionnaires.
The algorithm allows researchers for the first time to conduct cost-utility analyses using datasets where the QoL-AD although no utility measures were collected. The article has been published open access and can be read here: https://doi.org/10.1007/s11136-020-02670-8
