17/03/2025

The Panhellenic Federation of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders has decided to shed more light on dementia prevention by organising the “1st International Alzheimer's Disease Prevention Race” in partnership with the Municipality of Thessaloniki. The race will take place in the city of Thessaloniki (Greece) in September, during World Alzheimer’s Month, and the fore-runner and its official first and worldwide announcement will take place on Sunday, 6 April at 12.30 p.m., in the context of the 19th Alexander the Great International 5 km Marathon in Thessaloniki. The aim is to host an event with people racing to spread the idea that we have the power to prevent dementia.

You can find information about the race, here: https://www.run2stopalzheimer.gr/index.php/en

Please support this great mission by spreading the news around Europe! It would be delightful to have participants all over Europe! A TV spot and social media video on the 14 risk factors was made by the Greek Federation with the help of famous Greek actors. You can find it here (with English subtitles). All proceeds of this event will be allocated exclusively to dementia research scholarships.
