The Scientific Committee of this year's conference decided to host sections which focused not only on psychopharmacology (as in the title of conference) but also on other most important themes of psychiatric care, one of them being old age psychiatry and care of persons with dementia.

Three invited speakers presented in this section:

• Dr Vanda Franková presented atypical case of combined neurodegeneration that caused the rapidly progressing syndrome of dementia

• Prof. Iva Holmerová, founder of the Czech Alzheimer Society and former Chairperson of Alzheimer Europe, introduced systems of care and support of persons with dementia across Europe and also informed participants about recent activities of Alzheimer Europe.

This section of the conference was attentively followed by 150 participants, mostly psychiatrists, present in the conference centre, plus a number of others attending the event online.
