Inaugural meeting of new Slovenian Council for Dementia Management takes place at Presidential Palace

On 31 August 2022, the inaugural meeting of the Council for Dementia Management took place in the Great Hall of the Presidential Palace, hosted by the President of the Republic of Slovenia.
On the initiative of Spominčica - Alzheimer Slovenia president Štefanija Lukič Zlobec and Prof. Dr. Zvezdan Pirtošek, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, established the Council for Dementia Management as a consultative body to the President of the Republic of Slovenia.
The Council for Dementia Management, in addition to representatives of decision-makers, brings together mainly experts in the field of dementia. The Council's aim is to formulate positions, recommendations and proposals, to address them to the competent institutions and to raise public awareness around the growing problem of dementia, one of the major problems of modern society.
The inaugural meeting was attended by:

•    Andrej Grdiša, Director General of the Directorate for the Elderly and Deinstitutionalization at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities
•    Mgr. Tamara Kozlovič, Chair of the Committee on Health in the National Assembly
•    Dr Jože Ruparčič Deputy Ombudsman
•    Dr Božidar Voljč, Chairman of the Slovenian Medical Ethics Commission
•    Štefanija Lukič Zlobec, President of the Association Spominčica - Alzheimer Slovenia
•    Dr Nena Kopčavar Guček, general practitioner
•    Dr Milica Gregorič Kramberger, neurologist
•    Dr Zvezdan Pirtošek, neurologist
