On 23 May, Alzheimer Larissa (Greece) participated in the initiative “Together as one embrace – Mazi mia agkalia” of the Prefecture of Larissa with the experiential workshop “Rhythmokinisi”. The workshop was presented by 15 women with mild cognitive impairment, aged 60–86 years, from diverse educational backgrounds. After a two-month training with the interdisciplinary team and under the guidance of the choreographer, the 15 performers transformed the following musical pieces into choreographies: “White, red, yellow, blue little boats” and “Marco Polo”. They used their bodies, scarves, and fans as props.

The presentation of the “Rhythmokinisi” experiential workshop took place in the central square of the city, among numerous organisations and citizens of all age groups. The 15 performers, with rhythm, coordination, and theatrical expression, impressed both younger and older people, conveying a variety of emotions and messages. Through body language, they expressed messages of courage, self-confidence, extroversion, and brain activation. The audience was thrilled by the original and outstanding performance art of the Hellenic Alzheimer’s Association (E.E.N.A.L.) and journalists captured and broadcast the event through digital media. The presentation of “Rhythmokinisi” highlighted hidden skills in people and revealed pathways to psychosomatic balance and quality of life.
