On 21 September, thousands of residents in Burgas (Bulgaria) were able to enjoy an amazing view – the Burgas Bridge, a city symbol, coloured in purple! The Burgas Municipality wanted to draw attention to Alzheimer's disease and dementia in general. This event was a logical continuation of a flash mob organised two days earlier by the day center Gryzhovnik in Burgas. The other goal of the flash mob was to show that people with dementia can still do many things. The clients of Gryzhovnik offered homemade cookies, did gymnastics with elements of yoga and danced! The event was filled with joy and happiness to show that people with dementia have talents and if they are not locked at home alone, with some support they can have a normal life.
