On 25 March 2026, the La Ligue Nationale Alzheimer Liga (Belgian Alzheimer League), in collaboration with researcher Kasper Bormans, the artistic duo Unik-ID, and Alzheimer Liga Vlaanderen, inaugurated the first “memory seesaw” in Wallonia, at a nursing home in Chaudfontaine.
This initiative, both symbolic and practical, aims to foster communication and relationships with people living with dementia. Inspired by Kasper Bormans’ work on communication and the “resonance method” the seesaw invites individuals to connect in a different way, sharing a face-to-face moment, moving in the same rhythm.
Already developed in Flanders in recent years, this concept has demonstrated a positive impact by creating meaningful connections, facilitating exchanges, and encouraging a more sensitive approach to care.
