The Alzheimer Society of Ireland launches Tea Day 2025

21/03/2025

On 21 March, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (The ASI) officially launched this year’s Alzheimer’s Tea Day campaign with a memorable event at The Mansion House, hosted by The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Emma Blain. The launch brought together ambassadors and couple Bryan Murray (actor, Irish Dementia Working Group member) and Una Crawford-O’Brien (actress), renowned singer Daniel O'Donnell, alongside ASI staff, board members, and service users. The launch received national media coverage, including a feature on ‘Virgin Media News’, drawing attention to the ongoing need for increased awareness and funding for dementia care in Ireland.

Tea Day 2025 will take place on 1 May, when communities across Ireland will come together to raise a “cuppa” (cup of tea) and vital funds for the 64,000 people living with dementia and their family carers. These funds are crucial in sustaining The ASI’s essential services for individuals and families navigating life with dementia. The campaign encourages people from all walks of life to host their own tea parties, providing an opportunity for local communities to show solidarity and raise awareness.
