Alzheimer Europe and its European Working Group of People with Dementia (EWGPWD) organised a series of pre-events for delegates with dementia and carers attending the 30th Alzheimer Europe Conference. These included two demo sessions of the virtual platform to support people with dementia in accessing and navigating the platform. A total of 14 people with dementia and carers attended the demo sessions.
In addition, on the morning of the first day of the conference, a social networking event was held where people with dementia and carers had the opportunity to meet each other and share their expectations for the conference. This event was chaired by Helen Rochford-Brennan (EWGPWD) and Dianne Gove and Ana Diaz (Alzheimer Europe). We were very pleased to welcome 15 people with dementia and carers from Austria, Belgium, Iceland, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland and United Kingdom.
