Alzheimer Bulgaria collaborates on new “EMPROVE” Erasmus+ project

27/03/2023

Alzheimer Bulgaria Association has started working on a new project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. It is entitled “EMPROVE: EMpowering PROfessional RelatiVEs in Europe” and is aimed at improving the quality of assistance provided for the elderly by developing an innovative training methodology. This content will be targeted towards people who would like to train to become a Professional Relative – a profession that represents the link between family and specialist support as well as planning and supervision of care. Alzheimer Bulgaria is working on this project alongside five organisations from four other European countries: Asociatia Elena si Marius Tutunaru (Romania), CENTRUL PENTRU PROMOVAREA INVATARII PERMANENTE TIMISOARA ASOCIATIA (Romania), European Education & Learning Institute (Greece) and INTERNAZIONALE PER LA PROMOZIONE DELL'EDUCAZIONE E LO SVILUPPO ASSOCIAZIONE (Italy).

The project started in November of 2022 and will have a duration of two years. Within this time frame, the project aims to achieve several goals. One of them is to identify gaps in the education of professionals working with the elderly and utilise them in order to develop an extensive and innovative methodology and training content for professionals in this field. In addition, an e-Learning platform will be created, where information about the project as well as all of the developed materials will be made available. The platform will also serve as a space for professionals to share examples of best practices, ideas, opinions and feedback. Furthermore, the project aims to disseminate these contents on a local, regional and national level, as well as among target audiences throughout the EU.
