Maria do Rosário has been practicing law in Portugal since 1987, with a focus on family law and the legal rights of people with diminished capacity. She is also a trainer on these same issues.
She held the position of Chairperson at Alzheimer Portugal from 2001 to 2012, followed by her role as Vice Chairperson from 2013 to 2022, and she has recently resumed her position as Chairperson once more since 2023.
Maria do Rosário has been a member of the Alzheimer Europe Board since 2008, was the Honorary Treasurer from 2010-2020 and now she serves as Chairperson.
