The 21st Alzheimer Europe Conference also received the patronage of the European Parliament.
In a letter dated 22 February 2011, European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek wrote:
Dear Ms Sadowska,
I would like to thank you for your letter with request to provide patronage of the European Parliament over the 21st Alzheimer Europe Conference to be held in Warsaw from 6 to 8 October 2011.
The Conference which will focus on the Alzheimer’s disease and support for patients and their caregivers in coping with its consequences, fits very well into the scope of activities and interests of the European Parliament.
The Parliament recognizes Alzheimer’s disease as a priority within the subject European public health and appeals for a paneuropean cooperation and support for the improvement of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Thus, it is with great pleasure that I agree to offer the European Parliament's patronage over this event.
Unfortunately, because of other obligations, I would not be able to participate personally in the opening ceremony of the Conference, however, I use this opportunity to wish you every success.
Faithfully yours,
Jerzy Buzek
