At its 29 September online Company Round Table meeting, Alzheimer Europe welcomed industry representatives from Anavex, Biogen, Bristol Meyers Squibb, Eisai, Eli Lilly, GE Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson, NovoNordisk, Roche and UCB, along with Alzheimer Europe staff. The meeting was chaired by Jean Georges, Executive Director, Alzheimer Europe. Cindy Birck, Project Officer, began with an update on the Clinical Trials Watch, an accessible online resource created by Alzheimer Europe, together with input from corporate sponsors and members of the European Working Group of People with Dementia (EWGPWD).
Angela Bradshaw, Director for Research, then presented some of the recent regulatory developments at European and global level, including an update on the opinions on donanemab and lecanemab from the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and from the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). She also shared Alzheimer Europe’s activities in this field. Owen Miller, Policy Officer shared some recent policy developments at the EU level, and Jean Georges first provided an update on Alzheimer Europe’s activities, projects and the upcoming Annual Conference in Bologna, and closed the meeting with a look at the organisation’s 2026 Work Plan and Sponsorship Opportunities.
The meeting was highly interactive, with lots of interesting and pertinent questions and discussion from company representatives in attendance. We look forward to our next roundtable meeting with sponsors, scheduled for 2 December in Brussels (Belgium).
