Lizzy Boots is an Assistant Professor and coordinator of psychosocial research at the Alzheimer Center Limburg (Maastricht University) in the Netherlands and co-lead of the INTERDEM Assistive Technology taskforce. Lizzy has a background in Mental Health Sciences (psychology). Her research focuses on translating psychosocial needs into care innovations and implement them into daily practice. One example is the Partner in Balance (PiB) programme, a transdiagnostic tool for caregivers (e.g. young-onset dementia Frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease). PiB received the Medical Inspiration Award for the best collaboration between researchers and end-users.
