Climate and Weather

Average temperatures in Dublin:
Winter: 2 to 8 °C
Spring–Autumn: 8 to 15 °C
Summer: 15 to 20 °C
Warmest months: May and June
Coldest months: January and February
Precipitation:
Rainfall is evenly distributed year-round, with slightly higher amounts in autumn (October–November) and lower in late winter (February–March). There is no true dry season; expect light rain or drizzle on many days. Annual precipitation averages around 750–900 mm.
Food & Drink
The tap water in Dublin is safe to drink. It meets strict Irish and EU standards, is regularly tested, and is considered among the cleanest in Europe. The water is sourced mainly from the Wicklow Mountains and treated at advanced facilities. Bottled water is widely available, but most locals and visitors use tap water. Public refill stations are common, and drinking tap water is an eco-friendly choice.
Local beverages include excellent Irish beers (such as Guinness and craft brews), ciders, and world-famous whiskeys. Pubs often serve locally brewed ales alongside international options. Imported drinks are also easy to find in bars, restaurants, and shops.
Cuisine in Dublin is diverse. Traditional Irish dishes—such as stews, soda bread, and seafood—are widely offered, but you’ll also find modern European, continental, and international menus. Seafood is a highlight, thanks to Ireland’s coastal location. Vegetarian and vegan options are common in most restaurants. Dublin has a thriving food scene, with farm-to-table dining and artisanal producers gaining popularity.
Please note that food and drink are an integral part of the Dublin experience, with its pub culture and growing reputation for innovative cuisine making it a strong reason to visit.
