Prior to the European Parliament elections in May 2014, Milan Zver, MEP (EPP, Slovenia) signed Alzheimer Europe's European Dementia Pledge, thus becoming a member of the European Alzheimer’s Alliance
In the run-up to the European Parliament elections in May 2019, Milan Zver again signed Alzheimer Europe's European Dementia Pledge, continuing as a member of the EAA and affirming his support for greater EU collaboration on dementia.

In his contributions to Alzheimer Europe's campaign to make dementia a European priority he:
- signed EP Written Declaration 27/2016 to make dementia a top priority of the EU.
- signed EP Written Declaration 57/2015 calling for European Alzheimer’s disease strategy
- signed the Glasgow Declaration on 18 August 2015.
