On 27 October 2014, Romana Tomc, MEP (EPP, Slovenia) joined the European Alzheimer’s Alliance when she signed Alzheimer Europe's European Dementia Pledge.
In her contributions to Alzheimer Europe's campaign to make dementia a European priority she:
- signed EP Written Declaration 27/2016 to make dementia a top priority of the EU.
- signed EP Written Declaration 57/2015 calling for European Alzheimer’s disease strategy.
- signed the Glasgow Declaration on 25 February 2015.
In the run-up to the European Parliament elections in May 2019, Romana Tomc again signed Alzheimer Europe's European Dementia Pledge, thus continuing as a member of the EAA and affirming her support for greater EU collaboration on dementia.
