Summit of public empathy on World Alzheimer’s Day organised by the Turkish Alzheimer Association

21/09/2025

The Turkish Alzheimer Association reached millions of people during World Alzheimer’s Month through press conferences, events and TV programmes. But what made this year especially remarkable was the extraordinary support their social media campaign received across the country on World Alzheimer’s Day, on 21 September. With the slogan “Let’s Talk About Alzheimer’s Together, Let’s Understand It Together,” the campaign adapted Alzheimer’s Disease International’s (ADI) global theme, “Ask about dementia,” to the Turkish context with warmth and directness. This slogan not only reflected a strong stance against stigma but also emphasised that the burden of Alzheimer’s can, and should, be shared together. They reached a potential audience of over 27 million. More than 40 volunteers from the fields of art, gastronomy, health, business and astrology lent their support. Beloved public figures such as actress Sinem Kobal (6M), singer Sıla Gençoğlu (3.4M) and comedian Ata Demirer (2.6M) shared the campaign on their social media accounts.

Thanks to this support, the message reached millions of people across the country. During the campaign, the Turkish Alzheimer Association also wanted to express its gratitude to supporters, with a special gesture. With the contribution of Kütahya Porselen, specially designed coffee cups were sent to around 50 opinion leaders. In addition, personalised thank-you messages were shared with everyone who supported the campaign. This was not only a gesture of appreciation but also laid the foundation for long-lasting friendships and collaborations. The Turkish World Alzheimer’s Day 2025 campaign stood out not only with its numbers but also with the trust, empathy and spirit of solidarity it created, making it a truly meaningful success story for the Association.
