Professor Miia Kivipelto, scientific founder of Fingers Brain Health Institute (FBHI), and Professor Mai-Lis Hellénius published their book, "Hjärnhälsa – på dina fem fingrar" ("Brain health – at your fingertips") earlier this year, in Swedish language. The book looks at how to maintain cognition and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in older age.
The book is based on Prof. Kivipelto’s ground-breaking work on the FINGER (Finnish Geriatric Intervention Study to Prevent Cognitive Impairment and Disability) study, and describes how the "five fingers" of exercise, healthy eating, cognitive training, social activity, and vascular & metabolic monitoring can be used to promote healthy brain ageing in later life.
It has now been published in English language.
