On 27 August and 1 September, members of the DORIAN GRAY Public Involvement Board (DORIAN GRAY-PIB) gathered online. The DORIAN GRAY research team attended both sessions, which were facilitated by Soraya Moradi-Bachiller (Public Involvement Officer at Alzheimer Europe). During the first part of the consultation, members of the DORIAN GRAY-PIB were asked about the apps they use to stay fit and healthy, if any. They were also shown some examples of games on which the DORIAN GRAY exergame will be based. The second part of the meeting focused on discussions about the motivators and barriers that may influence the use of the DORIAN GRAY exergame. Level of interaction with the digital coach of the exergame, reminders and motivational/encouraging messages, adaptability and information about the user’s progress, performance and improvement over time seem to be important topics to consider when developing an exergame that is engaging, accessible and appealing enough for people with cognitive issues. Members who attended these sessions (both part of the same consultation) participated actively and provided insightful feedback that will help the DORIAN GRAY research team develop a successful exergame.
