Alzheimer Europe would like to congratulate Golnaz Atefi on successfully defending her PhD thesis, on 10 April 2025. At its core, Dr Atefi’s thesis, "Enhancing Social Health in Dementia Care: Insights from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Technology Use" emphasises the importance of strengthening connections between research and the community and highlights the need to bridge the gap between evidence and practice to promote inclusive and supportive dementia care for those who are, or will be, affected by dementia. Alzheimer Europe has had the pleasure of supporting Dr Atefi’s “Rolling For Dementia” campaign, which formed part of her doctoral work and we were delighted to welcome her to Luxembourg on World Alzheimer’s Day in September 2024, and to our 34th Annual Conference in Geneva the following month, where she was able to showcase her excellent work.
