On 10 July, Alzheimer Latvia participated in an important talk show, the Conversation Festival LAMPA, in a discussion called "When memory disappears, conversation should not be lost." The conversation focused on dementia and digital dementia, the importance of timely diagnosis, support options, and social innovations that can help create a more inclusive and understanding society.
The panel included two highly experienced neurologists, the Chairperson representing Alzheimer Latvia (pictured, speaking), a social rehabilitation specialist, and the director of an organisation representing parents. The event attracted more than 100 in-person participants and more than 500 on-line.
Alzheimer Latvia joined Alzheimer Europe’s membership in June of this year and, during the chat show, the importance of Alzheimer Europe was emphasised as were relevant statistics on the prevalence of dementia from its recent report.
