Alzheimer Europe Board meets online

30/09/2024

The Alzheimer Europe Board gathered for a meeting online, on 30 September 2024. Board members reviewed the association’s finances and welcomed the positive forecast for the 2024 accounts ending with a small surplus. They also reviewed financial regulations and the 2025 work plan, and received an update on preparations for next week’s 34th Alzheimer Europe Conference, as well as other upcoming meetings. Following the recent negative opinion on the marketing authorisation application for lecanemab given by the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human use of the European Medicines Agency, the Board has adopted a position paper written by Alzheimer Europe Director for Research Angela Bradshaw and Executive Director Jean Georges. The position will soon be published by the organisation. Other items adopted by the Board include the sponsorship opportunities for 2025 and a memorandum of understanding with the European Alzheimer’s Disease Consortium. The next meeting of the Alzheimer Europe Board is scheduled to take place in Brussels on 9-10 December.
