26/01/2023

The Erasmus+ project AIDA – Alzheimer patients Interaction through Digital and Arts aims at improving the quality of life of people with dementia and their caregivers, promoting respect for their dignity, and raising awareness and making dementia a priority through digital and arts. The AIDA project started in 2022 and is implemented by seven organisations working in a consortium. The partners of the project are: Alzheimer Bulgaria, Fondazione Patrizio Paoletti, Spominčica - Alzheimer Slovenija, CRHACK LAB, OPW Heritage Services, Viborg Museum, and Innovation Frontiers IKE. The project aims to integrate three areas: digital technologies and different types of arts in the care of people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. In order to achieve this, professionals from these three fields are working together to find innovative approaches to improve the quality of life of people with dementia.

So far, the AIDA methodology has already been created, which offers a method of working that brings the three areas together. In addition to the AIDA methodology, the partners have created learning scenarios based on this innovative approach. The next phase of the project is the piloting, during which people with dementia will have the opportunity to visit a cultural site, together with their caregivers, and implement the learning scenarios based on the AIDA methodology. The creation of the AIDA Hubs digital platform is also underway, where the developed learning scenarios and the results of the pilot phase will be uploaded. Participants in the pilot phase will have the opportunity to create a “personal gallery” on the platform where they can save memories of their experiences during the project.
