On 14 October 2020, Alzheimer Bulgaria held its first “Meet the Expert” webinar with Liana Apostolova. Dr Apostolova presented the latest results of her research related to early-onset (a.k.a. young-onset) Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and the genetic biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Dr Apostolova is a professor of Neurology, Radiology and Genetics at Indiana University Medical School, Indianapolis, United States (US). Her research focuses on the early symptomatic and pre-symptomatic stages of AD. In the interactive discussion that followed the webinar, she answered participants’ questions from the fields of science and medicine, as well as addressing a number of issues raised by carers
