Emma Wolverson is a Clinical Psychologist and Professor of Ageing and Dementia at the Geller Institute of Ageing and Memory, University of West London, UK. The Geller Institute is committed to research that explores hidden, unseen, and often stigmatised aspects of care, with a strong focus on real-world impact to improve the lives of people living with dementia and their families.
Emma’s research focuses on critical points in dementia care, particularly times when individuals and families require additional support, such as during mental health crises and at the end of life. She is a Board Member of INTERDEM and leads its Palliative and End-of-Life Care Taskforce.
She is Chief Investigator of the FIND-ME study, which explores inpatient mental health care for people with dementia in the UK, and co-leads the EMPOWER Dementia Network Plus, a UK-wide network of over 400 members. Emma also chairs the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Quality Network for Older People’s Mental Health Services Advisory Group and is a Trustee of the Vivensa Foundation.
