Jenni Kulmala is the President of the Alzheimer Society of Finland.
She has a PhD in Gerontology and Public health. She currently works as an Associate Professor of Gerontology at Tampere University, Finland and as a Senior researcher at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. She is also affiliated with Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
With longstanding background in health sciences and gerontology, Kulmala’s research interests in the recent years have focused on brain health, midlife predictors of cognitive impairment and functional ability, and prevention of memory disorders.
She currently leads several large research projects related to dementia, and is involved in the FINGER research group. She has published, for example, about the effects of the FINGER intervention on daily functioning.
