About
Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Their vision is a future where dementia doesn’t exist. Their mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. Their goals are to prevent dementia by empowering people to look after their brain health, continue to care for as many people as we can who are living with dementia, and to help find a cure by funding research and campaigning for people to have access to any treatments available.
They have Brain Health & Dementia Resource Centres right across Scotland offering a friendly, accessible environment. Whether you want to pop in for some information, advice or support the staff and volunteers there can help. You can also get advice on how to keep your brain healthy. Each Centre is also a base for a wide range of groups and activities.
They are also very proud of their 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline which provides information and emotional support to people with dementia, carers, families, friends and professionals. Their Dementia Advisors provide a responsive, high-quality information, advice and advocacy service relating to all aspects of brain health and dementia.
Alzheimer Scotland has almost 400 full and part time staff as well as a network of volunteers who support the charity.
