Professor at the University of Salamanca (national certification), teaching in the University for 18 years. Head of Psychiatric Department and Mental Health in the Zamora Hospital (Spain) President of the Spanish Psychogeriatrics Association (www.sepg.es) . Board Member of the European Association of Geriatric Psychiatry (www.eagp.com) and the Interdem Network (founder member) (www.interdem.org) and international fellow of InterRAI (www.interrai.org). Oordinator of the Technology for dementia taskforce of Interdem. Member of the National Spanish Committee for spanish strategy against Alzheimer disease (Spanish Goverment). Principal Investigator in more than 100 international clinical trials in mental health (promoted by drug companies and public institutions) and more than 15 European and national projects (Competitive calls). He has participated as principal investigator in more than 20 research projects funded by national and EU research program. He has supervised more than 25 PhD (1 MSC granted) and is supervising currently 7 (2 MSC granted). Coordinator of the mental health training Commission for Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatrist and mental health nurse. Author of 5 patents.
