Janne Papma (PhD) is an associate professor and head of the Alzheimer Center Erasmus MC, Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. She is trained as a psychologist and neuroscientist.
Her research considers the development of person-centered dementia diagnostics and care. In different research projects she focuses on tailoring dementia diagnostics and post-diagnostic care to patient characteristics and needs in order to improve an early dementia diagnosis, and subsequently optimize and tailor post-diagnostic support. Topics that she was involved in were the development of culture-sensitive dementia diagnostics and care, setting up a cross-cultural outpatient memory clinic in the city of Rotterdam; tailoring care pathways to the needs of young onset dementia patients; and early diagnosis and psychosocial interventions of specifically behavioural symptoms of dementia.
Janne is involved in several large national research consortia (ABOARD, NDPI, SPREAD+, YOD-INCLUDED) and Interdem. Her work is funded by national funding agencies such as ZonMw and Health Holland.
