Since 2000, Halina has been employed in the 1st Department of Neurology Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, Warsaw.
Since 2006, Halina has worked as a consultant in an outpatients clinic providing care for patients with movement disorders, stroke, vertigo and epilepsy.
Since 2012, Halina has supervised clinical unit at the Department of Neurology. Since October 2016, she has worked as the head of the Department of Neurology and also as Medical Deputy Director of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology.
2020 – 2022 Halina was the Chief Director of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology.

  1. Investigator of the international project EU Nr QLG4-CT-2002-0191 Title: The use of stroke register to assess the quality of stroke management across Europe. 2002-2007.
  2. Leader (Principal investigator) of the national projects:
    • Grant nr 2 P05D 058 29 Title: “Smoking and nicotine craving after the first ischemic stroke – anatomical and clinical correlations.” 2005-2008.
    • Grant NCN nr 2011/01/B/NZ7/05402 Title: „The efficacy of antismoking interventions with different intensities on smoking cessation after the first in a lifetime stroke”, 2011-2015;
    • "Depressive disorders in the working population as a potential cause of early termination of work - social, clinical and economic risk factors" – project realized under the multi-annual program "Improvement of safety and working conditions"- 4th stage, implementation period: 2017-2019, Project Coordinator - Central Institute for Labor Protection - National Research Institute, project funded by the National Centre for Research and Development; Head of research at IPiN.
