Dr Clarissa Giebel is Senior Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast, leading national and international research into dementia care inequalities. Her mixed-methods research looks at different barriers to accessing care for people with dementia and unpaid carers, as well as how the social care workforce can be supported better to provide good quality care. She has published over 100 papers and 2 policy briefings in the field. She is working internationally with Colombia, Australia, the Netherlands, Uganda, India, and many others, including via leading the INTERDEM Taskforce on Inequalities in Dementia Care. Clarissa is passionate about equitable public involvement and engagement, having set up and running the public Liverpool Dementia & Ageing Research Forum, and hosting her own science podcast - The Ageing Scientist.
