Dr. Anthony Scerri is a senior lecturer at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Malta. I am also the coordinator of the Master in Nursing (General) at the University of Malta and chair of the Faculty of Health Sciences Master (by Research) Committee. I have a background in nursing, gerontology, rehabilitation, and management and have a doctorate degree in gerontology and dementia studies from the University of Malta. During my clinical experience, I have also worked for some time as a nurses and charge nurse in a geriatric rehabilitation hospital. I have been actively involved with the Malta Dementia Society (MDS) for the past 13 years and I am currently the Vice-Chairman of MDS. I am also the Vice-President of the Maltese Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (MAGG) and member of INTERDEM. I have authored several peer-reviewed publications in nursing, dementia and management journals focusing on dementia care in acute/rehabilitation hospitals and long-term care settings. Other topics of published articles that I have authored/co-authored include – pet robots in dementia care, dementia worry and dementia rehabilitation.
