My name's Marguerite Keating, l live in Cashel, County Tipperary in Ireland. My partner is James Brown who is a great support & joy in my life. l have three grow-up daughters and 8 grandchildren. l was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease on the 14th of February 2019 (no flowers 🌹).

l was shocked and pretty heartbroken when l received that news, and to be honest l couldn't see any future! lt wasn't something l was expecting at the age of 55! lt took a while to get my head around it, so now l do my very best to give a bit of hope to newly diagnosed people.

l' m involved with a few groups, Alzheimer Society of Ireland's (ASI) steering group, the Understand together working group, two local memory café's and l do talks for the Health Service Executive (HSE) & the ASI to hopefully bring some hope to carers and newly diagnosed people in the hope that they don't have to feel as isolated or as devastated as l did in those early days of an Alzheimer's diagnosis.

l have been so astounded by the amount of work that is being done around the world that l love to be even a small part of it. l have spoken at a few conferences now and what's amazing is how similar we all are! l look forward to being a productive member of Alzheimer's Europe! - Marguerite
