Continence care
Guidelines for improving continence care for people with dementia living at home
These guidelines were developed by a multidisciplinary working group, led by Alzheimer Europe, in the context of a project which involved a review of relevant literature, a small consultation with the European Working Group of People with Dementia and group discussion with a team of experts in dementia, continence care, psychology, general practice, nursing care and policy development. Due to the limited research available on the specific topic of continence care for people with dementia living at home, an expert consensus-based approach was adopted. We would like to thank the members of the expert working group and the European Working Group of People with Dementia for contributing towards the development of these guidelines, as well as SCA for their financial support.
