Informal carers
2018: Comparsion of National Dementia Strategies
With the exception of some brief references in other sections 1 , there are comparatively few references to carers. Where reference to carers was made, it was often vague or incorporated as part of the service offer for people with dementia. The majority of the strategies, in some form, recognised the importance of involving carers in the decision-making process and in the process of caring for the person with dementia.
This section will only deal with commitments which are specific to carers and which were not addressed under previous sections.
