Vajgl Ivo (Member)


In the run-up to the European Parliament elections in May 2014, Vajgl Ivo, MEP (ALDE, Slovenia) signed Alzheimer Europe's European Dementia Pledge, thus becoming a member of the EAA and affirming his support for greater EU collaboration on dementia.

Mr Vajgl sits on the Foreign Affairs  Committee and is a substitute on the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.

In his contributions to Alzheimer Europe's campaign to make dementia a European priority he:

  • signed EP Written Declaration 27/2016 to make dementia a top priority of the EU.
  • signed EP Written Declaration 57/2015 calling for European Alzheimer’s disease strategy
  • participated in an AE lunch debate in Brussels on 30 June 2015, on the Global Action Against Dementia.
  • signed the Glasgow Declaration on 3 March 2015.
  • wrote a letter in early 2015 to the Slovenian Health Minister and the Minister for work, family, social affairs and equal rightsasking the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to speed up the preparations and adoption of a national strategy on dementia.
  • joined the European Alzheimer's Alliance in 2014.
