This initiative was developed by Salon Muistiyhdistys ry as part of the Memoni-project.
The speaking-up-tool is a set of picture cards which can be used for counselling, group discussions and peer group support for people from different minority ethnic groups.
These cards have been created as a ”speaking-up tool” for different situations. The full pack includes 46 cards showing early and middle stage symptoms of memory diseases and also some cultural aspects like experiences of racism. On the back of the cards there are few questions to help the conversation.
The questions on the back of the cards are in Finnish but the cards are still very useful because the pictures are universal
